where to Fly…

There are two major airports in Puglia — Bari and Brinsidi.

The drive down is an easy and scenic drive with lots of tourist stop points on the way down. For those looking to make a longer trip we would recommend making a bit of a road trip of it and using the wedding as a mid point. Towns we would recommend stopping at can be found under the “travel” tab and “activities” subsection in the navigation menu. We have listed a number of places and recommendations for the region there.

Travel to Castro — 2hours 30mins

Travel To Otranto — 2hours 20mins

Bari is the major international airport in Puglia, and where you will find most direct flights.

You can find direct flights from London, and connecting flights from Manchester. You can fly direct from Manchester on Mondays and Fridays. On other days of the week you connect in London!

The only airports that fly direct to Bari from the usa are jfk and Newark, so connection flights will be required!

For ease of flying — New York rather than London, as it will likely make you change airports from Heathrow to Gatwick, and these airports require at least a 2 hour window to safely change due to the unpredictable nature of the motorway that connects them (no matter what google maps says, and despite them both saying “London”).

For cost effectiveness — The cheapest options tend to fly via London, just watch for the change of airports and layover time incase you are happy to make the change, and account for London cab prices. there are no direct trains between Heathrow and Gatwick.

Other options for a cross over destinations to consider would be Rome, especially for those considering extending the trip and exploring italy a bit! We are more than happy to offer recommendations for things to do and places to visit in italy.

Brindisi is a more regional airport in Puglia, and where you will find a lot of connection flights from other airports in Italy, and Europe.

You can find direct flights from Manchester and London. London flies every day of the week and Manchester flies on Thursdays and Mondays! The flights from Manchester are typically released 3-4 months prior to the flight itself. So you own’t be able to see may flights till January/ February time.

The no airports that fly direct to Brindisi from the usa - the best connections would be the same as with Bari or connection in Rome/Milan in italy as they both fly direct to Brindisi!.
